Art in the library

Since summer 2025, the library has been offering art exhibition spaces, which are being actively used. Anyone interested can contact the library management; further information can be found on the website (https://www.th-deg.de/bib#benutzung, under ‘Art exhibition, exhibition agreement’).

Having previously hosted exhibitions by professors and students, the library is currently hosting an exhibition by two staff librarians. Alongside their work with books, they are passionate about art:

Dan Oprea explores the world of photography through his camera. His images capture landscapes, special moments and moods.

Matthias Hirtreiter works mainly with clay, creating ceramic objects with personal or social significance after the firing process: www.flachware.de/matthias-hirtreiter

The exhibition brings together photography and ceramics in a fascinating dialogue. Visitors to the library are warmly invited to discover these two artistic perspectives and, if they are artists themselves, to enquire about exhibiting their work: bib-leitung(at)th-deg.de.
