This course strengthens intercultural competence for international business and management. Students develop a practical understanding of how culture shapes communication styles, collaboration patterns, and expectations in professional settings. They explore how leadership approaches and reward systems differ across countries and organisations, and what this means for motivation, teamwork, and performance. Students also work on negotiation strategies for international contexts and learn tools for customer analysis, stakeholder understanding, and conflict management. The course combines academic input with applied learning. Students work in diverse teams on an international business case. They are guided through the week by various lecturers through short input sessions, workshops, and coaching.

Technische Hochschule Deggendorf and the Deggendorf Campus provide a strong setting for this course because internationality is a visible part of campus life. Students learn in an environment shaped by international study programmes and a multicultural student community, which makes intercultural exchange a natural part of daily collaboration. The campus offers a modern learning environment with spaces that support group work, interactive formats, and student-led teamwork. The location also provides access to regional and international perspectives, creating an ideal context for practicing professional communication and teamwork across cultures.

The program includes a one-daytrip to Dachau and Munich.

Week-Long Team Challenge: Global Market Entry and Team Leadership
Student teams design a market entry strategy for a company expanding into a new country. They map and redesign the cross-cultural customer journey. They also create a practical leadership playbook for international teamwork, covering communication, decision-making, feedback, motivation, and conflict management.

Note: The Munich Oktoberfest starts the day after this course is over, for those that may wish to extend their trip.
